Cinemanía summer editorial illustrations
🇪🇦 Agosto también tiene sus tradiciones, y una de ellas son los pasatiempos de verano de Cinemanía. Cada año, la revista reúne 31 pasatiempos, uno para cada día de agosto, con temática cinéfila y esta año halloween ha comenzado en agosto en el estudio.
Para esta edición nos tocó ilustrar a unos cuantos de nuestros favoritos: personajes y referencias de películas y series como Stranger Things, El Exorcista, Alien, Predator, Insidious, La matanza de Texas o Nosferatu, entre muchas otras. El reto estaba en conseguir que cada ilustración tuviera su propia personalidad, pero que todas funcionaran juntas dentro de un suplemento. Un pequeño festival de los horrores en papel, vaya.
Un proyecto de ilustración editorial de cine que nos permitió volver a uno de esos terrenos que siempre disfrutamos el terror y el cine. Gracias a Carmen Martín por la confianza.
🇬🇧 August has its own traditions, and one of them is Cinemanía’s summer puzzle feature. Each year, the magazine compiles 31 film-themed puzzles, one for every day of the month, and this year, Halloween arrived early at the studio.
For this edition, we got to illustrate some of our personal favorites: characters and references from movies and series such as Stranger Things, The Exorcist, Alien, Predator, Insidious, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Nosferatu, among many others. The challenge lay in giving each illustration its own distinct personality while ensuring they all worked together cohesively within the supplement. In short, a mini festival of horrors on paper.
It was a film-focused editorial illustration project that allowed us to revisit a realm we always enjoy: the intersection of horror and cinema.
