Mural 25 aniversario IES Gamonares

🇪🇦 Hay proyectos que tienen un significado especial, muy especial. Este año el IES Gamonares de Lopera, el instituto donde estudié, celebró su 25 aniversario y me invitó a crear un mural conmemorativo para el centro. Volver a un lugar donde pasé tantos años de mi adolescencia ha sido una experiencia difícil de describir. Entre esas aulas y esos pasillos comenzaron a despertar muchas de las inquietudes que, con el tiempo, terminarían convirtiéndose en mi profesión. El reto consistía en crear una pieza que no solo celebrara el aniversario, sino que representara la historia del instituto como un lugar de encuentro para distintas generaciones. El mural conecta el pasado y el futuro de Lopera, con el instituto como elemento que permanece y acompaña a quienes pasan por él. Este proyecto me ha recordado que la ilustración también puede formar parte de un espacio, reforzar su identidad y contar historias que pertenecen a toda una comunidad.

🇬🇧 There are projects that hold a special, very special, meaning. This year, IES Gamonares in Lopera, the high school where I studied, celebrated its 25th anniversary and invited me to create a commemorative mural for the school. Returning to a place where I spent so many years of my adolescence has been an experience difficult to describe. Within those classrooms and hallways, many of the interests that would eventually become my profession began to awaken. The challenge was to create a piece that not only celebrated the anniversary but also represented the history of the school as a meeting place for different generations. The mural connects the past and future of Lopera, with the school as an enduring element that accompanies all who pass through its doors. This project has reminded me that illustration can also be an integral part of a space, reinforcing its identity and telling stories that belong to an entire community.
